Week 6

Week 6 of the Six Pack 'O Picks
6 picks for the games this week from our resident prognosticator some interesting choices in the 6 Pack O'Picks.

Week 5 Recap: New week, different beer, same result: 4-2. Here’s what I learned in week 5:

  • I am on pace to go 89-7 since my unofficial warm up in week 1.
  • I went 2-0 in games I officially do not remember picking (Bills and Panthers). Maybe I should stick with them.
  • Apparently, “Parcells” is not Australian for “bad coach,” but rather for “big fat Tuna.” The Cowboys still stink, though!

YTD record (against the spread): 18-12 *

* undefeated in college games

Week 6 : Miller-Lite (uggh)

A wise man once told me, “If you want a light beer, drop some ice cubes in your mug!” I thought this old crazy fool was drunk when he spewed this from his three legged bar stool, and maybe he was, but have you ever tried a beer with ice cubes in it? It’s terrible; almost like a dirty wash rag that was used to wipe down the local high school cafeteria tables. The point (and this is how I knew the old man was wise), there shouldn’t be any such thing as light beer. It’s not even beer. But in light of not being able to make it to work after my Foster’s “incident” last week, my body (and my wife, for that matter) ordred me to take it down a notch. So I logged onto the net in search of the first ever light beer and hence my encounter with none other than Miller-Lite (first successful light beer: released in 1972) this week. Now this puts me in a predicament. Through six weeks what have we learned? More drunk = better picks. It’s almost like E= MC2. With that in mind, can I succeed this week? Yes; but only if: More sick from terrible light beer = better picks. Even if my picks fail this week, I may be able to answer one age old question: Miller-Lite... Less Filling or Tatses Great. Here goes:

1st beer : Cincinnati (+3 pts) @ Tennessee.

Week 5

Week 5 of the Six Pack 'O Picks
6 picks for the games this week from our resident prognosticator some interesting choices in the 6 Pack O'Picks.

Week 4 Recap
Another stellar week at 4-2. It should have been 5-1, but apparently something got lost in the English to Mexican translation of 49ers to Cardinals.

I am on pace to go 91-5 since my unofficial warm up in week 1.
I am still undefeated in college game picks!
Apparently, the Cardinals are better at playing soccer than football. Maybe they should play
all their home games in Mexico.

YTD record (against the spread): 14-10 *

* undefeated in college games

Week 5: Fosters

If Fosters is “Australian for beer” then Six Pack O’Picks must be Australian for “Great Picks!” By the way, if Fosters is Australian for beer, then what is the Australian translation of beer? Hmmm?

After the great Mexican cerveza experiment that saw me go 4-2, I decided to switch continents and go “down under” this week in search of perfection at 6-0. Can it be done? Yes. Will it be done? Well since I learned in week 3 that more drunk = better picks and this restaurant only serves Fosters in 24 ounce mugs, then yes, I’d say this week is a stone cold mortal lock to see me go 6-0. Cheers.

1st beer: Seattle (+3 pts) @ St. Louis
